Public School

Hello!

I've been homeshooled for basically the whole time I have been in school.  I went to a Christian private school for part of preschool, but I've never gone to public school.  Besides, preschool doesn't count, it's just a place to make friends, color, paint, and have snacks.  My family just moved, and I don't really have any friends.  So, I'm considering going to public school.  To be honest, I have no idea what it would be like.  I've never gone to public school, and my sister hasn't either.  The pros are, I'd get to make friends, socialize, and experience something new.  Oh, and on Fridays you get to go skiing, and do independent study!  The cons are, I'd have to get up early, I would have to go to school on my birthday, and my schedule wouldn't be as flexible.   I don't know whether I'd like it or not.  I can definitely tell you one thing though, I hate getting up early in the morning.  I get a little cranky too.  I guess I'd get used to it! :)  Do you guys think I should go to public school, or should I just stay homeschooled?  I'd love to hear some feedback!  You can either email me at americangirllindsay@yahoo.com, or just comment below!   Right now, there isn't even room for me in the class, but by the end of the Summer there might be a spot.  Well, have a nice night, and please give me some feedback!  Have a great night!

  1. Hi Lindsay!
I felt the same way you did when I went to a public school. I was young, but I was very nervous! Yeah, it's new to experience something but it can be exciting! I'm homeschooled now, and I do like being homeschooled better! :) It really depends on whether or not you want to go to a school or stay homeschooled. I say, pray and talk to your mom or dad about it :) I can assure you, it's NOT scary at all! :D You can always email me =)

  2. Hmm..maybe just for one year? Then if you don't like it you can stop, and if you do, you can keep on going there.
Haha, I've gone to public school, and I applied to a more challenging school. So I'm kind of thinking, should I go, should I stay, should I go...
It's driving me crazy, but I know I'll be happy with my decision.

  3. I think you should definitely go to public school. I've been to public schools my whole life and it really gets you to interact with different people, have friends to talk with, and you just get to be around people and learn with them. It's a great experience exspecially if you've been homeschooled all your life.

And about the getting up early: You'll get used to it. I get up at 6:00 every school day and I used to not like it at all, but once you've got yourself an alarm clock and you're used to it, you'll be fine.

    Wish you luck,
    ~Jenny

  4. Hmm... I don't know..... =P I suppose you could do it for a year and see how you like it, and then if you totally hated it, you could go back to homeschooling. :)

  5. DO NOT GO TO PUBLIC SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My brother Ian used to go to public shool and he hated it. Homeschooling gives people advantages and opens up many avenues and explorations. It lets you dig deep into your imagination and gives you journeys beyond imagination. Going to public school stops the mind and the people are not encouraging of what you want to do. They do not let you explore your own wants but stunt them and only let you do things one way, the artificial one, the way that they have made it. The literature they give you is garbage, and the topics are not presented in a way which is creative or which will make you enjoy it and want to learn more. Public school is completely unchristian and the science they teach goes completely against what the bible says. It may seem appealing but that is how they want it to seem, they give you a beautiful platter of food for free, not telling you the poison that is inside it. I know many people who have gone to numerous different schools and I have done extensive research on this. DO NOT GO!!!!!!! Often children end up not realizing the wrong and liking it because that is how it is presented. They ignore the poison long enough for it to seep into them and by that time they are gone. DO NOT GIVE IN! Anyways, isn't it your parent's choice, them being the authorities in your life. You want to socialize then talk to people you see, regardless of age. Sign up for groups and clubs. Try to go to some public activities and introduce yourself to people. DO NOT GO!!!!!!!
    Sincerely yours,
    Layla.
