A Mysterious Garden
Chapter 1
The Garden
"Uh, how much longer do we have to keep walking?" asked Audrey.
"Ya, this was supposed to be a short walk!" complained Amelia.
"Settle down girls! I'm sure we're going to be there soon. It is kinda strange, though. We were supposed to be at the beach hours ago," Mom said.
"I'm thirsty," said Audrey.
"And I'm tired," said Amelia. "These beach chairs are super heavy! Why did I have to carry them anyway?"
"Wow! Mom, Amelia, look! That's not a beach!" Audrey said, amazed.
What?" asked Amelia. "Wooowww!"
"Oh my gosh! That's the most beautiful garden I've ever seen!" Mom exclaimed.
Chapter 2
Lost
"I just don't know how we got here! Where did we take a wrong turn?" asked Mom, confused. "It says right here on the map that we were supposed to follow the trail that had a sign with a dove on it!"
"Uh, Mom. The trail we took didn't have a sign," Amelia said, worried.
"And our trail didn't look like a trail," said Audrey, concerned. "It had tons of sticks and brush."
"But, I swear I saw that sign! I really did, and our trail was a plenty good trail," Mom answered.
"I don't think so," protested Amelia. "How do we get back? Did you even pay attention to the supposed trail?"
"Well, I guess I don't really know, but we'll figure something out," said Mom.
"Well, what about the map? Doesn't it say?" Audrey asked.
"No, the map doesn't even show this trail on it," Mom said, sounding slightly worried and confused.
"I told you it wasn't a real trail!" Audrey said.
"Well, if the map doesn't tell us, and we weren't paying attention then......" Mom trailed off.
"W-w-we're lost!" screamed Audrey and Amelia.
Chapter 3
Magic In the Air
"Do we have food? Do we have clothes? Do we have blankets? Can we survive!?!" Amelia asked, breathing very hard.
"Oh, don't be so dramatic! I'm sure we'll be out of here before dark," Mom said enthusiastically.
"Wow!" Audrey said, amazed.
"Why did you just say 'wow'?" asked Amelia. This isn't wow, this is horrible! We're stranded!"
"No, that's not what I was talking about. Don't you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"That music! It sounds so soft and sweet! It just stopped."
"Audrey, I think you're delusional," said Amelia. "I didn't hear anything. Moooom! I think Audrey needs to rest."
"Why?" asked Mom, confused.
"She's hearing things. She thinks she just heard music!"
"I did! I swear! It was real. It couldn't have been fake!" Audrey protested.
"Girls, stop arguing! Let's just go find somewhere to settle down and rest. I have a few snacks that I was going to put out at the beach. We should eat some so we stay energized. Okay?" asked Mom.
"Okay," the girls answered.
"We better be careful, though. I have a strange feeling about this place." said Audrey, suspiciously.
